It was a sad day to day for choice, choice for a voice that can’t be heard.

An abortion bill that would regulate the killing of babies older than 20 weeks was voted down today by the US Senate. It is called the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act“. The vote was 51/46 in favor of continuing the painful, brutal and senseless life ending procedure for late term babies.

In Canada, doctors are free to terminate the lives of babies like my son Joshua who was born at 24 weeks. In some States, there is regulation against late term abortion, but in Canada, a baby’s life can be takes at full term if it is requested by the woman.

An abortion can take place at any time, any gestation for any reason. Canada is the only Country in the civilized world that considers a baby a non life and eligible for termination up until it draws its first breath.

Critics like to accuse Christians of being anti-science, but these same critics refuse to even discuss the question of when a human life begins. The science today’s laws are relying on is 400 years old.

“the current law’s 400-year-old definition of when a person is defined as a human being is dishonest and most Canadians don’t agree with it. Canadian[’s] don’t accept the notion in the law that “birth is a moment of magical transformation that changes a child from a non-human to a human being,” Woodworth said.” (CBC news, By Meagan Fitzpatrick ,   Apr 26, 2012)

Science clearly demonstrates that the growing babies in the womb are living, active and are as much human as a newborn infant.

Prior to 20 weeks, a growing body of evidence is showing that these babies feel pain. Late-term babies feel it just as much as a newborn (or you) would feel if his/her legs and arms were torn off like in a typical abortion, or if scissors were forced into the back of his/her skull to have his/her brains suctioned out. The brutality is undeniable today and it is unconscionable that we continue to trade humane treatment of millions of lives for convenience.

So does the fetus, in fact, feel pain? A growing body of evidence says yes. The fetus is known to have pain receptors throughout the body by 8 weeks of gestation. By 20 weeks gestational age, the fetus will react to a painful stimulus in the same manner that adults do. [Medscape.com]

“The fetus, in many cases, dies just as a human adult or child would: It bleeds to death as it is torn from limb from limb,” Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote of D&E abortions in his dissent for Sternberg v. Carhart in 2000. “The fetus can be alive at the beginning of the dismemberment process and can survive for a time while its limbs are being torn off.”

“Pain receptors (nociceptors) are present throughout the unborn child’s entire body and nerves link these receptors to the brain’s thalamus and subcortical plate by no later than 20 weeks after fertilization,” as stated in the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

“It is clear that the fetus is capable of mounting a physiochemical stress response to noxious stimuli as early as 18 weeks gestation,” [Essential Clinical Anesthesia; Cambridge University Press]

In another post, you can read all the stats that show only a very small percentage of abortions have anything to do with the health of the mother. Moreover, there are no cases of a mother’s life taking precedence over an unborn baby, even with there were strict abortion laws.

The termination of these helpless lives can be done by any means with no regard to the infants pain and suffering. We offer greater care for pets then we do for our most vulnerable people.

That could be why general referendums are never held on abortion regulations. Agendas, noisy, often belligerent voices, and profit from these deaths continue to win out over morality and common sense. This anti-science defense also leads to ridiculous ideas like this liberal commentator offers.

There has been no woman’s life prolonged by abortion that has reached 20 weeks of her pregnancy in over 40 years. In the USA, Planned Parenthood received half a billion dollars every year from the government to keep their abortion mill in business. On top of that, they continue to sell baby body parts.

“Today it is possible for almost any patient to be brought through pregnancy alive, unless she suffers from a fatal illness such as cancer or leukemia, and, if so, abortion would be unlikely to prolong, much less save, life.”( Alan F. Guttmacher, “Abortion—Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” in The Case for Legalized Abortion Now (Berkeley, Calif.: Diablo Press, 1967 p3)).

There are times when choosing between a woman’s life and a babies is heartbreaking. There are other times when it seems impossible to make that decision and it should be, it involves two lives. But we as a society should be appalled at the waste and destruction of live on such a scale for the sake of convenience or lack of responsibility.

GENOCIDE: 50% of U.S. Black Babies are Aborted

In the United States, the black community accounts for 36% of all abortions. This is remarkable since they only represent 13.2% of the population. The CDC statistics say in 2010  138,539 black babies were aborted. 1 in 3 abortions in the U.S. are black babies. Within the black community almost half of all babies are aborted, 483 abortions for every 1,000 live births. (The Washington Times; Aborting Black America; The ‘black lives matter’ slogan excludes the unborn; By J. Kenneth Blackwell – – Wednesday, January 21, 2015)

We cannot continue to deceive ourselves into thinking these babies are not human lives with souls, that are experiencing excruciating violence, pain and suffering for the sake of a so called human rights issue.

Imagine the arrogance for a society to determine dogmatically at just what point a fetus becomes a person. Or that 5 minutes prior to birth at 40 weeks, a baby is disposable, and yet magically he/she becomes a person seconds after being born. Square that with my 24 week old son laying in the hospital and try to tell me or anyone he was not a person laying there.

A recent study by Priscilla Coleman, Ph.D., et al., entitled, “Women Who Suffered Emotionally from Abortion: A Qualitative Synthesis of Their Experiences,” on the effects of abortion on woman, the results don’t fit the media narrative. Abortion is not the benign woman empowering decision it is made out to be.

When asked about the positive effects of their abortions, 31.6% of 987 woman reported there was none. One woman’s response was not so different from many others.

“None, there are no positives. My life is no better, it is much worse. I carry the pain of a child lost forever. Although I know I am forgiven and have worked through the guilt and shame, the heart wrenching pain is still there. I would rather have been a single mother of two and have my baby here to love and dote on than the pain of empty arms.”

Of the remaining woman who reported a positive effect, those effects were helping others not to 52.9% fell into the following categories;

  • Deepened spiritual life (finding forgiveness, peace, inner
    healing): 135 (17.5%)
  • Committed to crisis pregnancy work: 102 (13.3%)
  • Committed to helping women recover from an abortion
experience by sharing God’s forgiveness and love: 63 (8.2%)
  • Conversion to Christianity, knowing Christ personally: 58
  • Active in the pro-life movement: 49 (6.4%)

The negative effects are devastating, post abortion mental health visits skyrocket from 13% of woman who don’t have an abortion, to 67% who sought professional help. These woman are riddled with regret, addiction, self hatred, depression and remorse.

Abortion is no answer for a woman in distress and the activists are not the helping friends they claim to be. If they were, the mainstream media, and woman’s groups would more accurately portray to woman the devastating consequences of aborting their babies.

On another sad note, a group of clergy of various “faiths” gathered to bless a late-term abortion clinic today in Bethesda, reports the Washington Post. One of these “Christian” leaders, Rev. Carlton Veazey, led in prayer.

“God of grace and God of glory, in whom we move and live,” … Keep them safe and keep them strong. And may they always know that all that they do is for Thy glory…We sanctify this space, and we honor this as holy.” [Washington Post]

I am speechless!
