Merry Christmas

Was Jesus given life by Mary, or did he pre-exist his mortal body?

Was he a lunatic, a liar, or who he claimed to be? Those are the only choices he left us with because no mere man, or great moral teacher could have made the claims about himself that Jesus made.

What did Jesus claim?

  • I am the only way to heaven John 14:6
  • I came from heaven John 8:23
  • I am the bread of life John 6:35
  • I am the door for life John 10:9
  • I existed before Abraham John 8:58
  • I am the I AM John 8:58
  • Belief in me is eternal life John 3:14-15
  • If you have seen me you have seen God John 14:9

Everywhere in the bible Angels, messengers and the disciples corrected anyone who tried to worship them. Jesus even said worship on God yet he not only accepted worship but said nothing when Thomas called him God.

John 20:28-29
Thomas replied to him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are the people who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Matthew 28:9-10                                                                                                                     Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,”he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me.

John 14:6
Jesus replied, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 3:13
No one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven – the Son of Man.

John 8:23
Jesus replied, “You people are from below; I am from above. You people are from this world; I am not from this world.

John 6:38
For I have come down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me.

John 6:35
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. The one who comes to me will never go hungry, and the one who believes in me will never be thirsty.

John 10:9
I am the door. If anyone enters through me, he will be saved,…

Unlike us, Jesus existed before his body walked the earth. Our spirit, our being is created by God at conception of life, Jesus’ spirit, or being pre-existed his mortal body.

John 8:58
Jesus said to them, “I tell you the solemn truth, before Abraham came into existence, I am!”

Exodus 3:14
God said to Moses, “I am that I am.” And he said, “You must say this to the Israelites, ʻI am has sent me to you.ʼ”

John 17:5
And now, Father, glorify me at your side with the glory I had with you before the world was created.

John 16:27-28
For the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. I came from the Father and entered into the world, but in turn, I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.”

John 3:14-15
Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.” (Jesus to Nicodemus)

John 14:9
Jesus replied, “Have I been with you for so long, and you have not known me, Philip? The person who has seen me has seen the Father! How can you say, ʻShow us the Fatherʼ?

Jesus is the First born over all creation, not the first created. Everything the Father possesses is his as that culture would have understood. Jesus is by his nature God, unlike mortal men. He is also the first to be resurrected from the dead, he is the first born off all who will be resurrected. Jesus was not created, he is the creator.

John 1:1,14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came..

Colossians 1:15-17
The Supremacy of Christ
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation,
for all things in heaven and on earth were created by him – all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions, whether principalities or powers – all things were created through him and for him.
He himself is before all things and all things are held together in him.

Colossians 1:18
He is the head of the body, the church, as well as the beginning, the firstborn from among the dead, so that he himself may become first in all things.

Jesus could not have been a great moral teacher and have made all these claims of himself if he was just a man as other religions portrait him. He is who he says he is or he is dismissed as a fraud, or unbalanced.
